DOROTHY STIRLING
SOLO EXHIBITION of PAINTINGS
3 – 24 May, 2008
Dorothy Stirling is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art and has won several prizes during her artistic career. Her paintings feature in numerous private and public collections, including those of the BBC and Peter Gabriel.
Much of Dorothy’s imagery is inspired by the crofts and coastal scenery on the west coast of Scotland, near Gairloch. The changing seasons and wild-life provide endless inspiration. Some paintings combine this observation with a subtle wit, culminating in her ‘signature motif’ of sheep in boats.
Her most recent paintings also present personal reflections on family and friends.
