Eden Court Gallery - New Graduates - Tuesday 29 April : 6- 8pm
Eden Court Gallery - New Graduates - Tuesday 29 April : 6- 8pm
25 April 2008

Several of the new graduates from Moray College, Elgin, are creating a buzz even before they have completed their final year.

Eden Court are pleased to present the work of two of them before their final show. Come along and see why reports are so good - and maybe the chance to buy their work before they are snapped up!

Georgina Porteous takes much of her inspiration from her work in care environments. Her poignant line drawings express the vulnerability of the human figure.

In contrast to this traditional medium Georgina also uses more contemporary processes such as video projections and combines them with found objects from the care environment to create sculpture and installations. Included in this show is a 'chandelier' made from speculum - presented in the stunning setting of the Bishop's Palace Chapel.

Mark Creaney also shows work around the building in unexpected places. Taking his starting point as contemporary cultural icons he questions the images we see repeatedly in the news and around us on a daily basis. Using the glossy presentation techniques of commercial processes he challenges our acceptance or interpretation of what has become an everyday vocabulary.

This exhibition continues an exploration of how the new Eden Court building can be used imaginatively - reflecting current visual arts practice it goes beyond the 'frame' of the gallery walls.

For this night only there will be a special continuous showing of another of Georgina's video works.  Please attend from 6pm.

Exhibition continues until 8 June.
