Kathy was born in 1977 and was raised in Ballysaggart, Lismore, Ireland. At the age of 17 she attended Grennan Mill Craft School, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny. The following year she continued her studies in textile art and design at the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology. Kathy graduated in 1999 with a distinction.

She also received the V.M.R.A. student of the year award and the Nortel Purchase Award, in 1999.
 

Since the completion of college, Kathy has continued to pursue the development and maturation of her art work, participating in group and solo exhibitions and showcases.

Kathy took up her residency at An Tobar Arts Centre in July 2000. Here she found the perfect nurturing ground for her own personal style of work and welcomed the opportunity to participate in community and environmental art projects.
 

Exhibition: "Embrace the Sky"

Kathy arrived at the completion of a body of work which was conceived during her stay on Mull, which formed the basis of the exhibition "Embrace the Sky".
