| HI~Arts Study Reviews Craft Sector in the Highlands and Islands |
HI~Arts, the arts development agency for the Highlands and Islands, has now published on its website the Crafts Scoping Study commissioned from Amanda Bryan of Aigas Associates. The full study can be downloaded below.
HI~Arts commissioned the study in order to consider whether there was a need for a dedicated post to support those working in the craft sector in the Highlands and Islands and, if there was such a need, what should be the priorities for action. |
|
The study was jointly funded by the Scottish Arts Council and Highlands and Islands Enteprise.
Amanda Bryan’s report makes a number of specific recommendations, and maps out a potential programme of key actions over a three year period. On the strength of this report, the Scottish Arts Council’s Crafts Department have offered £30,000 to HI~Arts towards the appointment of a dedicated post with administrative support. HI~Arts are now in discussion with other funders to raise the necessary matching funding. |
