Following the news that 2005 Orkney Blues Festival would be the last. A small group of blues enthusiasts and local businesses got together to keep the spirit of blues music alive in Orkney. A new committee was formed and a very successful blues weekend took place in 2006.

The 2006 blues weekend was very well supported by local blues fans and visitors alike and has spurred on the organising committee to run a further blues weekend this year. The committee plan to start of small, building the blues weekends up as finances and time allow.

This years visiting acts include Gerry Jablonski, Son Henry, Blues On Tap, Bluebelly and the After Hours Blues Review. They will be supported by local acts Smokestack, Blue Rooster, Mean Business, Ms Noma & Mr Ree, and Superego.

All events are free with the exception of the finale on the Sunday night. Tickets for this event are priced at £8.00.
