Two tickets for the 16 May sellout Kaiser Chiefs show at Strathpeffer Pavilion have been given back to the Pavilion by a mystery donor.
‘It’s a great gesture,’ says Andrea Muir, General Manager of the Pavilion, ‘perhaps they thought we could put them on eBay or something and make a little bit of cash for Pavilion. As far as we know, they are the last two available tickets.’
The donation left the team at the Pavilion with a bit of headache though.
‘Of course, we know there are lots of people who should get them – but we would need the wisdom of Solomon to decide who. So we got to thinking that whilst the Kaiser Chiefs are a hot topic, we have plenty excellent local bands who might like to play at the Pavilion.
‘Therefore we have decided to hold a gig on Friday 16th May. The ticket price will just cover our costs, and each ticket bought goes into a live Prize Draw for the two remaining Kaiser Chiefs tickets on the night!
‘You could say it’s sort of a warm-up for the Pavilion in the same way that the Kaiser Chiefs are warming up for their big gig at Elland Road’
Local band Catching Amy have confirmed that they will play. The second band is to be confirmed.
Tickets for the May 16th gig are £3 and available in advance from the Pavilion and at the door on the night if any left.
Tel: 01997 420124. Doors open 7.30. The live draw will take place at 10pm. The Kaiser Chief tickets are for Monday 19th May 2008.
