Seven day Acting Laboratory on Greek Comedy
08 July 2008

Laura Pasetti of Charioteer Theatre, in collaboration with Moray Council, invites you to a 7 day Acting Laboratory on Greek Comedy based on the play Women in Council by  Aristophanes.

This laboratory is open to both experienced and less experienced participants. Students will be working on the play Women in Council by Aristophanes. Working as a team, they will explore the important role played by the Chorus in the ancient Greek theatre. They will also learn how to take initiative and express their individual creativity within the group. Improvisation will be used to develop themes from the text, and participants will have the opportunity to deepen their skills in the art of comedy by working with rhythm and characterisation.

The course will include:

Text approach & analysis
Physical and verbal training
Group Improvisation
Exploration of the chorus

Despite the title, the laboratory is open to both female and male and participants.
