Tore Art Gallery Summer Exhibition
30 July 2008

Tore Art Gallery's SUMMER EXHIBITION which runs during July and August opened recently and the venue would like to welcome all visitors!

There are contributions from a wide selection of gallery regulars as well as the main show from three main artists:

JOS HOWARD paints the highland mountains, glens and lochs with sensitive assurance.

ELIZABETH MACGREGOR takes inspiration from the fishing villages of the Moray Coast for her colourful acrylic paintings.

MOY MACKAY "paints" in a totally unique style using hand-dyed merino wools, in felting and embroidery, creating richly coloured works with deep texture.

Tore Art Gallery is also very pleased to welcome MARY MORRISON to the gallery - a Harris born artist who is exhibiting intricate and thoughtful small works which evoke the music and seascapes of the Hebrides. Do go and see them.

The gallery has a good choice of paintings by DAVID BODY including an impressive larger work.

Finally another textile artist - JANETTE SUTHERLAND has completed "Fragments", a series of abstract works based on her studies of the Battle of Culloden, and organisers are delighted to be able to show some of them in the gallery.

Don't forget the venue's ethical trading projects including plenty of metal-sculpture from Zimbabwe, and the gallery's beautiful rugs. You can also stock up on carefully chosen jewellery, ceramics and greetings cards.
