A Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop will be running for all interested parties on Monday 25 August 2008. The workshop runs from 6.30-9.30pm in Elgin High School, Elgin. Sports and Arts should provide a safe and fun environment for children and young people. Every week hundreds of thousands of youngsters happily and safely participate in the care of dedicated sports coaches. To ensure that good work continues in a safe environment, organisers, coaches and parents must be aware of child protection issues.
Although the desription of the course refers to sports coaches it is is also suitable for those working in an arts related field who are regularly working with children.Protect yourself, the young people you are coaching / working with and your employer by understanding and following good coaching practice. Learn about child abuse and how to handle situations if you have concerns.
