Hiring films to show to your film group is not a simple case of hiring DVDs from your local rental store. The film licence required means that films should be sourced directly from a distributor. There are three major organisations distributing films on DVD and VHS:

Filmbank distribute films on behalf of the major, and some independent, studios, and have a back catalogue of classic titles.

British Film Institute has an extensive catalogue of foreign, classic and independent films, and distributes DVD titles on behalf of companies such as Tartan, Soda Pictures and Artificial Eye.

New Realm Entertainments Ltd distribute titles on behalf of such independent companies as Momentum and Pathe.
