Artist's Statement

After invited to join Tanera Mor residency, I had a brain storm. I decided to look up Google map to find out where is this island located. That what I normally do. But then I couldn't find the Island.
I switch it to satellite Google. There it was the Island. I noticed that there is a missing spot on the Google image map. I was fascinated. The place even computer cannot reach? Then reminded me the novel "Treasure Island" by Robert Louis Stevenson, which I truly enjoyed when I was child. To find Island, to find out the black spot.
I start working with map.

Now I arrived the Island, small unknown Island in a world map became the important place for me. I go around this Island and find out new things evey day. It is amazing to know how this stunning, innocent  looking Island was slightly connected to slave trade or to hear loud sound of excises of air force fly very low once very couple of day, routine 12 o'clock tour visitor from Ullapool which only stay 30 minutes or not seeing single surveillance camera nor car road…. My expedition continues…."
