Centre for Performance Research, Aberystwyth - Experimental Theatre in Europe: Looking for Footprints

The Ironworks
Thursday 18th, from 10.30am until 12.30pm (free to festival participants)

‘CPR is not a centre, rather it gathers to disperse’

The Centre for Performance Research (CPR) is a pioneering and multi-faceted theatre organisation located and rooted in Wales, working nationally and internationally. Working for the professional, the amateur, the curious, CPR’s programmes of work combine cultural co-operation, collaboration and exchange, practical training, education and research, performance, production and promotion, documentation and publishing, information and resource. CPR’s role in Wales is as a ‘conduit’ for exchange, co-production and contrast, to investigate and nurture emerging artists and ideas, and at the same time to pursue – sometimes against prevailing trends and fashions – the questions underneath.

Why and what if?

An illustrated presentation on aspects of CPR’s work over the years in a miscellany of questions, enthusiasms, obsessions, and curiosities.
