This is the first purpose built gallery in Shetland showing a varied programme of local, national and international work. Exhibitions in the main gallery change monthly and run all year round. The craftshop is located in Strathnairn, six miles west of the A9 and nine miles south of Inverness, in a scenic rural location. A traditional stone-built steading houses the shop and a woodturning workshop. The stock includes wooden products from the workshop (eg. bowls, dishes, boards, stools, tablelamps, vases etc) and other local handmade crafts including pottery, willow basketware, weaving, framed prints, soaps and stationery.

Felt & print studio on small organic farm on island off South Ronaldsay on Orkney. The felts are colourful wall pieces made from sheeps fleece and depict fluid designs inspired by life and movement. Largest size is 4' x 6'. The prints are strong images mainly of wildlife on silks and cottons ranging from cards to large pieces.

Isle of Skye Crafts,
Scottish Counted Cross Stitch Kits - we produce a range of Scottish Counted Cross Stitch kits designed and produced on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Knitting wool, and needlecraft supplies are also avilable.
A trip to Isle Ornsay on the Isle of Skye in 1978 inspired Laurence Broderick's first stone carving of an otter, where he now holds his annual summer exhibitions. He was able to see otters swimming in the bay below the Gallery An Talla Dearg and learned of Gavin Maxwell - author of 'Ring of Bright Water' - who dedicated much of his life to looking after and writing about these rare and fascinating creatures.
The Scottish Tourist Board have awarded the gallery, An Talla Dearg with three stars in recognition of the very high standard of the sculpture exhibition.
The ceramics we produce are mainly hand thrown on the wheel, including a full range of domestic ware and some individual pieces. All the pots on display are made on the premises; most are thrown from stoneware clay, some of the more contemporary pieces are made of porcelain. The pots are fired to a temperature of 1300 degrees C in our wood burning kiln. The pottery is situated by the southern shore of Loch Creran on the main (A828), Oban to Fort William road.
Traditional dyeing from Scotland using local dye plants together with indigo, madder, cochineal and logwood produce our vibrant yarns and contemporary range of handknitted designer sweaters, some handspun, and accessories such as socks, felted hats and scarves. Predominately Scottish wool with added luxury in the cashmere, angora, alpaca and silk blends chosen to complement the wool in our yarns, handknit garments and knit kits. Emma Siedle-Collins works from her studio, Heaven’s Ocean, with driftwood and found objects to create functional pieces such as mirrors and lamps and also textile collage, incorporating organic and reclaimed materials. GLASSTORM Contemporary Glass Studio,
GLASSTORM has been recently been established by the creative duo Brodie Nairn & Nichola Burns. Both have firmly established themselves within the glass art scene in The Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and The Netherlands. Returning back to Scotland they have put their new Tain based glass studio on the map by creating works in glass that reach the foremost in contemporary glass design and elegance.
